Intro to Aquatic Invasive Plants in Lanark County

June 16 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Eurasian watermilfoil and European frogbit are just two of the aquatic invasive plants that are already established in lakes within Lanark County, including Mississippi Lake. Other invasives, such as water soldier, are on the radar as potential next invaders.

Not only do aquatic invasive plants pose a significant threat to the aquatic ecosystem including damaging fish populations, they also negatively impact recreational water-user experience and can even be harmful to human health.

Join Mississippi Lakes Association and the Invasive Species Centre to learn how to prevent, detect and monitor aquatic invasive species in your lake and the value of reporting to EDDMapS. We will also be covering the basics on how to report your sightings.

We need YOU to be the champions in the fight against invasive species.
