Did you know that environmental DNA (eDNA) is a game-changer for the early detection of invasive species?
The ISC has led and partnered on projects using eDNA to increase detection of zebra and quagga mussels, water soldier, hydrilla, marbled crayfish, and hemlock woolly adelgid. In Ontario, eDNA has also been used for monitoring and early detection purposes for species such as invasive carp and oak wilt.
